It's All Beautiful

There's a new Jenny Craig commerical out, featuring actress Sara Rue. It's the lastest in her progress with Jenny Craig.

It starts with her saying (50 lbs ago), "not owning a pair of pants that I feel comfortable in isn't normal."

Which means I'm more abnormal than we thought. Because we look like we're the same size. And I don't own a pair of pants that I feel comfortable in. She can wear skinny jeans now - I won't try them on for fear they won't cover my rump. And for me, losing weight is not an option.

There's an implication in our culture that skinnier is more beautiful. That seems to be the subtle? message of this commercial. Every time I see it I think, "Wow. She was a gorgeous woman." She still is, but

Don't believe the hype. Losing 50 lbs didn't make her more beautiful.
